How we work
Cutting edge
Click Docklab to push boundaries. We are native to AI, decentralization and cloud. We refuse to do mediocre apps and our habitat is among first movers.
Domain x Technology
Our whiteboards are never white. We are scoping specialists, adding over 60 years of industry experience to our engineering teams.
Product mindset
We are from Rotterdam. Things must work. Even in our most visionary endeavours we always focus on that very first tangible result.
Our partnership models
R&D consortia
We partner in research programs, most often being the partner that delivers first PoC’s and pilots, within a larger shared vision.
Proof-of-Concepts
We partner with businesses and entrepreneurs in creating and validating new solutions that fit our agenda.
Innovation in Practice
Electronic Bill of Lading
Digitizing global trade documents through legal reform and open-source tech
Docklab collaborated with the Port of Rotterdam, MPA, and IMDA Singapore to enable the digital transfer of title for Bills of Lading, replacing a centuries-old paper process with a secure digital system.
This work led to an amendment of the Dutch Civil Code, which is now entering parliament and will make digital transfer of ownership legally valid in maritime trade.
The digital notary that powers this process is built on the TradeTrust framework and is available under an Apache 2.0 open-source licence.

RESULD
Building digital infrastructure for transparent supply chains
The RESULD project aims to develop an infrastructure to support digitalization of end-to-end supply chain operations and compliance processes using emerging tech such as blockchain, AI and IoT.
The project focuses on fresh produce trade between the Netherlands, Kenya and the United Kingdom, creating new ways to verify origin, trace shipments and share sustainability data across partners.
Digital product passports and automated validation tools are being piloted to improve data integrity and enable access to supply chain finance. Docklab contributes to the system architecture and ensures compatibility with existing logistics and customs systems.
